Ramblings from a Researcher-In-Training

MVO Woodworks

If you're reading this, you've found an unlisted page on this site that serves as a digital storefront for my other hobby: woodworking (why pay two Squarespace subscriptions?). I usually spend about one day a week in my solo garage woodshop tinkering with new tools, working on personal projects, and occassionally making a few cutting boards, commissioned pieces, and other odds and ends to keep the lights on and the blades sharpened.

Purchasing any item listed below — just like buying me a cup of coffee — is a way to support this site and what I do (the only difference being that you get a very nice, hand-made wooden item for yourself).

Inventory on this page will essentially always be very low — I work in small batches and in short durations. That said, I would be delighted to discuss any custom order you might have in mind. I'm a one-man operation with some limitations in what tools I have available, but I am always looking for new challenges to tackle in the woodshop (and you can see some of my previous custom orders in the gallery below). Just reach out to me via the Contact page.

These cutting boards are beautiful, high-quality additions to any kitchen, and are hand-crafted to last for many years. All of these cutting boards are finished with a soak in food-grade mineral oil, followed by a buff with Howard's Butcher Block Conditioner (which is more mineral oil, bees' wax, and Vitamin E). Sizes and weights are approximate. Pricing for each cutting board is based on the cost associated with any included wood species, as well as the cutting board's physical dimensions.

The products listed on this page are made by one person in their garage, and as such may have blemishes and imperfections inherent to the wood. In addition, if you have allergies to any species of wood, I would not recommend buying a wooden cutting board.

If you are purchasing from outside of the United States, please forgive me for the extremely high shipping costs. Cutting boards are too heavy to cost-effectively ship "regular post", and prices are based on Priority Mail International Flat Rate shipping. If I could ship them to you more affordably, I would!
